Young Ones contributing to the cause

Posted on 05 September 2010 by Aviva

The Great Wall of Education on its 4th day saw loads of kids coming to donate for the noble cause. Kolkata has been overenthusiastic about helping the underprivileged children with book donation. Over the days people came with vehicles and cartons full of books to donate to the cause.
The event saw kids from 3 years of age to the teenagers coming along with their parents and friends and donating books. Some had their school books, story books and even stationeries. It seems that kids are even one step ahead of their elders and realize how important it is that every child gets the right education.
Children wrote their messages on Graffiti walls and spread the message.
Students of Balika Siksha Sadan performed a play named Obak Prithivi. It portrayed the social evils against women and how they are deprived of education. The play gave a message that “if you educate a girl child you educate a family and society as a whole”. It stated that it is the woman who has to come out and take the first step towards their upliftment.
