When I read this topic it seemed as though this was something which had to be addressed long ago, but I feel fortunate to have come across the site that has given me this opportunity to pour in my thoughts!
There has been a revolution in the past 10yrs in every aspect of growing India so also there has been this drastic change in the education system to say the least. The norms of education are same but the price tag looks way different!!!
when I went to school, 12yrs of schooling I barely remember my parents coming to school to pay the fees, that’s because the amount to be paid could be counted and handled even by a pre-primary child, ironically now as a parent I am scared where I may enter an extra zero to the cheque to be submitted in my daughter’s school every month!!!
I am a doctor by profession when I did my med school the fees was highest among all the other professional courses, my parents had the resilience to go through the rigours of financial burden of sending me to this field!!!
Being a meritorious student is like taking a long highway what is a by-way???– Its capitation fee!!!
Many of my friends did BUY a PG seat and settled slightly earlier than we did…… but i really pity many of my deserving friends who had no money to buy a seat and had no luck in entrance exams either!!! yes at this point I wonder Money can buy education!!!
All ideas of being a good doctor, a meritorious doctor, and a good citizen of this country are defied when u can actually buy degrees to be pasted against your names!!
This is during my education, what are the rates now, phew!!! I guess the next generation of doctors will come only from the Tata’s, the Ambanis and the Birlas!!!
I sincerely hope auctioning education should stop!!!! Lets hope for a change… wherein even my maid servant’s son can be admitted to a school of his choice not by his fate!!
Jai Hind!
